How it all started

As a kid, tech and computers fascinated me. I was often less interested in whether something worked than in how it worked and what was going on behind the scenes.

Once I got into software development, I eventually wanted to turn my own ideas into reality. Not just building for clients or employers, but creating things people use that deliver real value.

That also sparked the motivation to build something of my own over the long term. Not for quick money, but for the freedom and opportunities that come with it.

Getting into micro-SaaS

During a holiday in the summer of 2022, I came across micro-SaaS.

I quickly found Pieter Levels and his challenge to launch 12 projects in 12 months. One of them became Nomad List, which I already knew, without realising it was his.

From there I went deeper: Indie Hackers, solopreneur content, and people like Marc Lou, Pat Walls, and Jon Yongfook's Bannerbear.

Own projects and experiments

Over the last few years I've tried many things of my own, with varying success.

  • Tools in tennis (my hobby)
  • Tools for software developers
  • the deals aggregator sparfuchs24.ch, which still exists today
  • a small Mario Kart-style racing game for a game challenge at vibecart.ch (built entirely with vibe coding)

AI played a bigger role over time, especially ChatGPT. I did a lot manually at first; today many things go much faster, which makes micro-SaaS even more interesting.

The next step (2026)

Now, in 2026, my partner and I made a bigger decision: we want to quit our permanent jobs and try to build something of our own.

The plan is to combine several pillars:

  • Digital agency and project-based client work via techninjas.ch
  • Micro-SaaS / digital products
  • Turning ideas into products that can scale, much faster today with AI than before
  • Passive income through dividends and interest from savings

Location independence

Freedom matters too. We want to work from anywhere. Concretely that means:

  • Giving up our flat in Switzerland
  • Spending winters in warmer regions
  • Likely summers in Switzerland again

How exactly it plays out remains to be seen, but the direction is clear.
